A youth-led dictionary anticipating the vocabulary of India at its centennial — 47 words across AI, governance, climate, urbanisation, and demographic change.
About the Project
Language shapes the imagination of a nation. India in Future Tense is a youth-authored dictionary that defines 47 words India will need to navigate its centennial — words that don’t yet exist in mainstream policy vocabulary, or that need to be reclaimed, redefined, or invented.
Developed through the Next Generation India Fellowship with CEEW and the UN Foundation, the dictionary was unveiled as a physical art installation at Youth Sabha 2047 — a floor-to-ceiling linguistic landscape inviting visitors to walk through the vocabulary of India’s future.

My Contribution
Led the research and writing of the AI and emerging technology cluster of words — including definitions for algorithmic accountability, AI literacy, and digital public goods.
Contributed to the overall curatorial framework: why 47 words, how they were selected, and what methodology was used to ensure they reflected diverse youth voices from across India.
Co-designed the physical installation at Youth Sabha 2047 — a floor-to-ceiling typographic landscape where visitors could engage with each definition spatially.
