The Role
The Institute of Risk Management is the world's leading professional body for Enterprise Risk Management education. The IRM India Affiliate manages all IRM activities in India — qualifications, training, examinations, and professional standards.
What This Involves
Imparting ERM knowledge to IRM India Affiliate's clients — professionals preparing for globally recognised IRM qualifications.
Working within IRM's globally recognised qualification framework while adapting content for Indian regulatory and governance contexts.
Part of the All India Trainer cohort — an invite-only group of certified trainers, academic leaders, and faculty shaping ERM education nationally.
ERM taught as a decision discipline — not compliance theatre. Risk must be understood, priced, and consciously owned at the right level of the organisation.
Event
SDA Bocconi Asia Center, Powai, Mumbai · 19 May 2026
A by-invite closed-door gathering of certified trainers, academic leaders, and university faculty shaping the future of ERM education in India. Chaired by Dr. Shailesh Haribhakti, this forum brought together some of the country's most influential voices in governance, ethics, resilience, and higher education.
The sessions centred on a core argument: ERM is at an inflection point. Organisations face more data but less clarity, more controls but less confidence. Decision cycles have compressed from quarters to minutes. Traditional ERM systems built for stable business models and periodic reporting no longer match the operating environment.
Key sessions covered Black Swan events in major Indian companies, reframing how ERM is taught from a compliance framework into an integrated decision discipline, and building boardroom-quality questions as a teaching tool. The standard set: not whether learners can describe ERM correctly, but whether they begin to think and respond differently because of how it was taught.
